Kadoz: A Sustainable Neighbourhood Exchange App
Kadoz is an innovative Android application designed to facilitate the exchange of free items among neighbours. The app allows users to give away items they no longer need, such as furniture or bicycles, preventing them from ending up in landfills. By simply photographing an item, Kadoz recognizes it and estimates its volume, listing it online almost instantly. Users can communicate with potential takers through the app, ensuring a seamless exchange process.
Privacy is a key feature of Kadoz, as the app displays items on a map approximately 150 meters from their actual location, keeping users' addresses confidential until they choose to share them. Additionally, Kadoz strips metadata from photos before upload to further protect user information. Available in multiple languages including French, Dutch, and English, Kadoz promotes sustainability by tracking the volume of items diverted from waste, making it a valuable tool for environmentally conscious communities.
